Friday Five: 13/09/19

In these (irregular) posts, I share five things.

Loves, hates, ideas I’m pondering, places I’m supporting, whatever.

Here we go:

LOVE OF THE WEEK: my Hobonichi Techo Cousin 2020 arrived this week! This is my current planner system and it’s so good, I ordered the 2020 version the day it was released. It came all the way from Japan and is beautiful. The paper is so thin it allows a page a day without it being too bulky. I’m following the hashtag #hobonichicousin on Instagram for ideas on how best to use the other pages. I think I’m going to use some pages for at-a-glance habit trackers. Is there anything better than a new diary to set up and use?!

BUSINESS LOVE OF THE WEEK: I’m a huge fan of Oscar & Rosie’s, a pizza place in Nottingham. I go there like as often as I can and their pizza is my absolute favourite! It’s an independent place that does everything well. The staff are friendly, the coleslaw is the proper homemade stuff, and they do a great selection of Mac & cheese. I had an eMail from them yesterday saying they had no bookings so were offering a flash sale – any 2 for £22 until they ran out of pizzas. How cool?! I was sadly unable to drop everything and go for pizza, but I thought the flash sale was such a great idea. If you’re ever nearby, I totally recommend that you check them out.

BOOK I’M READING: I’m reading an advance copy of a writing mindset book by an author friend of mine, Jon Cronshaw, and really enjoying it. I’ll share more when it releases!

WEATHER I’M LOVING: I’m a total weather freak. I love all kinds of weather, and I’ve talked before about how there’s one day each year when summer starts to feel like autumn. That day happened this week for me, and it always makes my soul happy. I’m enjoying hearing the wind rustle through the trees, seeing the leaves change colour, and bringing out my fall wardrobe.

SURPRISING THING I’M ENJOYING: cooking meals! I’m in a home-based work role at the moment and one of the things I’m enjoying most about that are being able to plan and make healthy home-cooked meals each day. My daughter’s enjoying it too. I’m lucky that she eats pretty much everything, and she’s been thanking me every night for making her nice dinners.

That’s all for this week 🙂
