About

WHO AM I?

I’m a busy wife and special needs parent, doing my best to juggle this with my work.

I run a Legal 500 ranked boutique criminal defence law firm, where I specialise mainly in sexual offences and vulnerable defendants.

I also write fiction under three pen names, across various genres.

I’m the author of Time Management for Writers and am soon to release the Nantucket Sands women’s fiction series under my own name.

Following the COVID lockdown, I’m working through chronic health issues and burnout. These issues are making me reassess things I used to take for granted – like what I can accomplish, and whether doing less means I’m worth less (spoiler: it doesn’t. Double spoiler: I have trouble learning that lesson.)

I live in Nottinghamshire, England, with my family – my husband, my amazing daughter (A) and our pampered Labradoodle, Coco.

I love books, reading, bamboo socks, nature, being by the sea, podcasts, blog friends, travelling, collecting more cups than I can reasonably drink out of, country music and r’n’b, and making memories.

WHAT I DO?

This site is a place for me to share my thoughts about the topics that interest me, and share ideas about things I might know a little about.

I write across all of my interests on this site, but I don’t speak about law much here. I’m well aware of the duty of confidentiality that I owe to clients, and nothing on this site (or anywhere else!) breaches that.

I don’t claim to be an expert on anything. I’m just one more voice, and if my voice resonates with you, that’s great. If It doesn’t, thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!
